Piedmont Community Church is an engaged and inclusive, interdenominational Christian church serving God and God's people in the East Bay and beyond. Our history dates back to 1910 when a group of Piedmont residents, of various backgrounds and religious outlooks, decided to form an informal worship community on "the hill." One hundred years later, our congregation spans a range of ages and backgrounds and continues in the spirit of inclusivity of which it was founded. Our non-denominational foundation means we are governed by the congregation itself, not by an outside organization.

We have 1100 members including singles, families and seniors who come from a variety of denominations and live in Piedmont, Oakland, Berkeley, Alameda and other East Bay cities. No matter from where or why you attend, the atmosphere is always infused with warmth and good feeling. True to the founding CREED, PCC liturgy and preaching remain open and inclusive, and centered in Christ. We acknowledge that there are many paths to spiritual and ethical truths. We seek only to reach out and warmly welcome those looking for a church home and a connection to God. Our core beliefs focus on service to our local and international communities, fellowship, and enhancing a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ and in the community.

When you arrive to a Sunday morning service, you will be greeted in the sanctuary by PCC members who can answer questions you may have about the service or the church. In addition, at the 10:30 am service, you will be greeted by a member of the "Welcoming Team" as you come up the church steps. They have a table set up in the courtyard with purple bags containing information about our church, including our newsletter, The Messenger, and a sermon CD. The Welcoming Team is eager to answer your questions, introduce you to others, and offer you the opportunity to be added to our mailing list, sign up for events, or request to be contacted by a pastor or congregation member.

Following the Sunday morning services, join us in the Courtyard or, on colder days, in the Clara Barton room adjacent to the Sanctuary for coffee and tea to chat with others in fellowship.
