Communication Classes for Parents - Next Class 2/27: Got a Pre-Teen? Thinking about what lies ahead as your child approaches adolescence? It can keep you up at night – remembering your own teenage experience or that of others. But it really doesn’t have to be that daunting! To see why, please join communication consultant, Jamie Anderson, for a 3-part series: Preparing for the Teen Years – Staying Close, Staying Connected. It will take place on February 6, 13 and 27 from 6-8pm in the Murdock Room. In each sessions, we will discuss basic communication skills and demonstrate how these skills can be used to keep the connection warm -- so that as a parent you can be the kind of resource you want to be. Class size is limited, so please rsvp to jean@piedmontchurch.org to reserve your space. Attending all sessions is recommended but not required. Suggested donation is $10/session.

Adult Education - Continuing March 4th: In a powerful new book called, When Helping Hurts, Steve Corbett and Brian Fikkert write that even the most well-intentioned efforts to help the poor can do more harm than good. Starting with faulty assumptions about poverty, efforts at alleviating it often end by causing more suffering - both for those in need as well as those trying to help. So, Rev. Don Ashburn will lead an extention of his 3-week class based on the book. These additional meetings on March 4 & 11will be in the CE Building Chapel. The class will appeal to anyone who has been involved in mission or charitable giving - with positive and/or negative experiences - as well as anyone who has a heart for those in need. You need not read the book to participate. For more information, or to order a copy of the book (by January 15th for $10) you can contact Rev. Ashburn at: don@piedmontchurch.org or 547-5700.

Dressed in character, and with a Scottish brogue, he’ll bring to life this environmental icon in an engaging presentation based on Muir’s own writings. This Forum is open to the public and suitable for children and adults of all ages. For more information, please contact Rev. Don Ashburn at don@piedmontchurch.org or 547-5700, ext. #105.
